Cast Your Burden March 02, 2017

"Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved." Psalm 55:22 NIV 🌟Spent some time on this verse and it really was speaking to me today. I think this is a beautiful verse. Christ hung out with fishermen. Men who got up in the dark, worked hard physical jobs to eat & to feed others. They would totally understand the term CAST. I hear it and think, throw down, place, send away...so if I am going to "cast my burden" I am going to toss it at the feet of Jesus. Mine I would probably just drop because I was so tired from carrying those nasty suckers for so long. Right? That's what I in my quick readings would get out of it. πŸ“–

The definition of CAST as a verb reads: throw (something) forcefully in a specified direction.

🎣Fishermen would CAST their nets into the sea. Those suckers were HEAVY. They had to grab on tight, twist their bodies and then with all their strength, hurl the giant tangle of ropes as far from the boat as they possibly could but in a certain direction. It would be a controlled, calculated, intense expulsion from their body's grip, out into the fish filled waters. 🌊 We are to do that with our burdens. We are to grab them all, take all our strength and hurl them to the One who can tackle them with ease. We were not created to handle such burdens on our own. He doesn't want us to just lay them down. Heck no! It would be to easy for us to pick them back up again!! Know exactly what you are casting, focus your energy & hurl them straight to Jesus!! "Casting your burdens" were not just words written in the Bible...those were instructions!
